I will be the first to admit that Spacemen 3’s music is a bit...challenging. But sometimes I feel like being crushed by distorted mid-80’s British "minimalistic psychedelia.” If I am honest, this is music for taking drugs to; they even named an album “Taking Drugs to Make Music to Take Drugs To”—which is brilliant, especially considering it came out in 1990, when you couldn’t even make a meme out of the title. (I don't know, maybe someone should make a meme now???) And the singer of the group, J. Spaceman, is an outspoken legend who went on to form Spiritualized, who have consistently put out good records for 20 years. What a run!

Spacemen 3’s first ever live recording was done in 1984 and was released in 1995. Musically, it’s cool; not the bands best work. But the title, “For All The Fucked-Up Children Of This World We Give You Spacemen 3,” is bizarre and so memorable. As you can imagine, the merchandise that came out around this time was, well, outstanding! The pièce de résistance is a white t-shirt featuring a neon green and pink swirl with the band's straightforward logo printed on it. The back has the band’s name and the poetic album title. It’s a little trippy, but mostly bold and clear—the best of both worlds, baby! I have never seen anyone wearing it IRL, probably because an original goes for $800. But it’s 2018, maybe I should just make a bootleg?!

Frankly, this the front.
Frankly, this is the back.
