We're Pretty Sure SZA's Met Gala Look Was Inspired by Blue Ivy

Here's a Holy Trinity: Rihanna as the Pope, Cardi B as the Virgin Mary, and ultimately SZA as…Baby Jesus?
Many celebrities—well, their stylists at least—were digging into religious art historical references in preparation for Monday night's Met Gala, celebrating the Anna Wintour Costume Institute's latest exhibition, "Heavenly Bodies: Fashion and the Catholic Imagination." Case in point: Tracee Ellis Ross, whose Michael Kors dress was inspired by the fuchsia colored robes Catholic priests wear on Laetare ("Rejoice") Sunday.
SZA, however, seems to have focused her attention on a more contemporary prophet: six-year-old Blue Ivy Carter.
Although Blue Ivy has never done the Met Gala carpet, she did previously accompany her mother to the 2016 MTV Video Music Awards in a Miscka Aoki "Grand Royalle" look. And it's that moment which I suspect most inspired SZA's Versace moment. This might be the longest reach in history, but it would be pretty great if Blue Ivy Carter was actually the center piece of SZA's Met Gala 2018 mood board? Just saying.
